A system that is too small never catches up. One that is too large short-cycles, wastes power and fails early. The job starts with the heat load, the access, and the hours the building can actually be worked in. Equipment is then chosen for the application and the budget.

That covers a bedroom high-wall split, a ducted home, a cassette or under-ceiling unit, and commercial plant: packaged and rooftop units, air handlers, chillers, chilled water, condenser water, fans, heat pumps, boilers and controls. Difficult access and after-hours installation are part of the work.

Warranty stays with the installer

When a new unit fails, some installers charge a call-out to tell you to ring the manufacturer. The manufacturer then finds an installation fault and the bill lands back with you. On these installations the warranty is logged with the manufacturer and followed through.

Service follows the manufacturer’s requirements, and a report is left, so the warranty is still intact at the end of the term. Access for filters, coils and valves is part of the install. A plant room that cannot be serviced becomes an expensive one.

The people doing this work are refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics. A split-system installation ticket alone is not a licence to repair or maintain the plant once it is running.
